All The World's a Stage Final Project

For the past three weeks, our regular classes have been replaced with three different Civic Term courses, which we've been doing. for about four hours a day. The course I took with seven other students was called All The World's a Stage, and it was about different aspects of theater, mainly design and acting.
Towards the end, we split into two groups of four, and wrote our own original plays, along with designing a set, costume, and then performed them.
As of this blogpost's publish date, we haven't yet performed, but the slideshow above gives a summary of the shows characters, costumes, set, and props.
Each of my group members chose an invisible illness to put a spotlight on. I chose anxiety, but some of my group members chose binge eating disorder, depression, and borderline personality disorder. We chose this theme, because these are very rarely portrayed in media, and when they are they are rarely portrayed in full and well rounded characters. None of the characters are one dimensional, or exist just to tick a box. We all did resources on symptoms and potential causes to try to better understand what we were talking about. Some of the sources I looked at included anxiety.org, the National Institute of Mental Health, and WebMD. One statistic I saw on them is that about 18% of people in the US have an anxiety disorder. I didn't know this before, and it was somewhat surprising to find out. Another statistic I saw was that although about 18% of Americans have an anxiety disorder, about 25% of all between the age of 13-18.
