Fixing Sex Education
For the first Action Project of the final humanities class of the year, Policy, we have been learning about the legislative branch. We specifically have spent a lot of time talking about the legislative branch and its role in war. We spoke with Troy LaRaviere, head of Chicago's Principals and Administrators Association, and my dad, Andy Davis about the functions of the state legislature, and how bills become laws. The culminating project for this unit was to write an email/letter to a legislator about a bill currently being considered by their governing body. When we talked to our guests however, we learned that phone calls are typically much more effective than letters and emails. With this information, we shifted the assignment to the format of a voicemail. You can read mine and listen below.
